You don’t expect to see an orchestra at a basketball game, but there were 20 members in the Ada pep band when the Bulldogs played Kalida. The Ohio Northern men's soccer program registered its 13th successive winning season, 13th straight OAC upper-division finish, and made a spectacular late-season run at the 2018 OAC Tournament title during a competitive 2018 campaign under 21st-year head coach Brent Ridenour.

MT. BLANCHARD - Visiting Ada lost to local rival Riverdale 51-22 in non-league girls basketball play Tuesday night.

The purple and gold dropped to 1-4 with the defeat, while the Lady Falcons improved to 4-4 with the win.

Riverdale led 15-7 after one period and extended the margin to 33-11 at halftime. The Falcons won half two, 18-11.

Bulldog sophomore Alexis Waugh led Ada with seven points. Freshman guard Kirsten Poling added six markers.

Bry Vanden Bosch of Riverdale led all scorers with 16 points.

County Line Church of the Brethren are hosting a family-friendly Christmas Carnival on Sunday, Dec. 16 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The event boasts lots of carnival games and prizes, including reindeer ring toss, fishing with candy canes, and build-a-snowman relay, plus a 9-hole mini golf course. There will also be a dessert buffet provided, and a chance to sing your favorite carols.
