Ada Presbyterians served soup for a good cause at their fellowship hall on Tuesday evening.
Proceeds from the dinner and auction will support local members going to one of the church’s missions. Although the exact mission has not been decided yet, the local congregation has, in the past, provided funds for local members to assist with missions as far away as Romania and Texas.
The supper of eight homemade soups draws a large crowd each year from not only members of the church but also from the Ada community. The suppers have been held prior to Christmas for more than 20 years.

ADA - Visiting Hardin Northern defeated county rival Ada 34-22 in the Lady Bulldog basketball home opener Tuesday evening.
HN outscored the scrappy Lady Bulldogs 21-12 in the second half to pull away from a low-scoring, close first half and post the victory.
The Bulldogs fell to 0-2 with the defeat, while the Lady Polar Bears improved to 1-2 with the win.
"We are happy with the win," said Northern head coach Brady Mast. "We missed a lot of easy baskets in the first half. We made some second half adjustments."
Ada was able to sink only nine field goals in the game, which featured just one made three-point goal by both teams combined.

“Want to take my picture?” Dancer seems to be saying.
He and Prancer (background) were a hit at Merry on Main on Monday evening in downtown Ada. The annual Chamber of Commerce “shop local” event drew a crowd of mostly children with their parents to see the live reindeer and the Grinch at the Railroad Depot and Santa at the Ada Public Library.
Outside the Ada First United Methodist Church, a choir sang and passers-by could view a live nativity scene. Those stopping at the Depot enjoyed hot chocolate, cookies, and crafts, as well.
