BOWLING GREEN - Three Ada girls and boys swimmers competed in the Division II swim districts at Bowling Green State University Friday evening, with one earning a return visit to the state meet at Canton.
Ada sophomore Klava Katayama took fifth in the 50-yard freestyle and finished sixth in the 100 butterfly race to qualify for the state meet at Canton in both events.
Katayama will compete Feb. 22-23 at the 42nd annual girls' Ohio state meet. The boys' state meet is being held for the 91st time.
The Ohio Northern men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought 5-4 decision to Franciscan on Saturday afternoon before defeating Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) 6-3 on Saturday afternoon at Peters Township Tennis Center.
The Polar Bears move to 3-2 on the season.
In the contest against Franciscan, sophomore Connor Christian (Gallipolis/Gallia Academy) teamed up with junior Jake Abbott (Kenton) to claim a 9-8 victory at No. 2 doubles.

LIMA - Host Lima Temple Christian pulled away from a tight halftime battle with a big second half to defeat Ada 56-46 in non-conference boys basketball action Saturday night.
The Bulldogs drop to 4-17 with the defeat. Meanwhile, the Pioneers improve to 11-10 after the victory.
Ada trailed 14-11 after one quarter and inched within two points by halftime at 24-22. The Bulldogs had four possessions late in the first half with a chance to tie or take the lead, yet were unable to capitalize.
LTC outscored the Bulldogs 32-24 after intermission, and led by as many as 15, en route to winning by 10.
