Four Ada boys 1st team All-NWC in soccer

DELPHOS - Ada senior Logan Williams led four Bulldog soccer standouts
named first team All-Northwest Conference in voting conducted by league
coaches recently at Delphos.

Williams finished second in the league Player of the Year balloting to
Tristan Smucker of Bluffton.

Joining the goal-scoring Williams on the NWC first team from Ada were
high-scoring junior forward Chris Reyes, senior midfielder ball
distributor Noah Pinkney and steady junior defender Noah Garmon.

Bulldog seniors Nate Allen (F) and Brayan Casiano (MF) were voted second
team All-NWC.

Ada boys shut out Willard

ADA - The Ada boys soccer team won its Div. III sectional opening round
match over visiting Willard Tuesday evening, 4-0.

The victory lifted the Bulldog record to 12-5. The sixth-seeded purple and
gold advance to visit second seed Mansfield Christian Saturday in second
round play.

Chris Reyes netted three goals to lead Ada to the victory. Jon Allen added
the other score. Miguel Jordan and Noah Pinkney each passed out one
assist.

Marilyn "Jeanne" Sumney, 1926 - 2017

Marilyn "Jeanne" Sumney passed from this life on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 3:04 p.m. 

These who knew her in this world will not forget her; now she has moved on to the next world to make her mark. 

Jeanne was born to Madge Shrider on July 26, 1926 in Lima, Ohio. 

She married Dallas Cheney in 1944. 

To this marriage their only child, Linda, was born. 

Following divorce, she married W. Fred Sumney in 1983 and he died in 2004. 

Jeanne was a member of the LaFayette Jackson class of 1944, having spent nearly all her life in the LaFayette area, most of the time on the family farm. 

Ada girls edged at Mustangs

HARROD - The visiting Ada girls soccer team played well but lost a 3-2 battle at backyard rival Allen East in the Northwest Conference and season finale Monday evening.

 

The Bulldog record ended up 5-12 overall and 4-3 in the NWC after the defeat. AE improved to 8-7-1 and 6-0-1 in the league with the victory to tie Bluffton for the NWC crown.

 

Ella Poling scored first to give Ada a 1-0 lead, but the Mustangs rallied to take a 2-1 edge by halftime on scores by Helser and Lawrence.

 

Bulldog Woods three-peats as NWC Player of the Year

DELPHOS - Ada senior middle Melina Woods completed two three-peats this past week.

 

Woods led Ada to its third straight Northwest Conference title and then won NWC volleyball Player of the Year honors for the third year in a row in voting conducted by league coaches at Delphos Sunday.

 

Behind Woods, Ada clinched its second straight outright, undefeated NWC title this season and third consecutive championship overall, including a shared crown in 2015. The Bulldogs have gone 23-1 in the NWC over the past three seasons, and were 29-3 over her conference career.
