Terry Lee Dyer, 02/15/1947 - 03/08/2017

Terry L. Dyer, age 70, died on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 1:25pm at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima, Ohio.

He was born on February 15, 1947 in Lima, Ohio to Edwin A. and Edith M. (Furnish) Dyer, who preceded him in death.

On March 29, 1968, Terry married Sandra G. Campbell and she survives in Alger, Ohio.

Terry retired after 25 years as a N.C. lathe operator for Teledyne Ohio Steel, Lima, Ohio.

Terry was a 1966 graduate of Upper Scioto Valley High School.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1967.

He was a member of the McGuffey Conservation Club, a former member of the Upper Scioto Valley Lions Club.

ONU's Emily Richards Women's All-Great Lakes Region Track Athlete of the Year

Repeat honor Delaware, Ohio, junior

ONU's Emily Richards has been named the Women's All-Great Lakes Region Track Athlete of the Year. For the second consecutive season, Richards earned the honor.

Richards set the Ohio Northern school records in the 800-meter run, 1-mile run and the 1,000-meter run in 2017.

She is also a part of the 4x400-meter dash record breaking team.

The junior, from Delaware Hayes HS, owns the sixth fastest time in Division III history in the 800-meter run and also owns the sixth fastest time in Division III history in the 1-mile run.

Nearly 900 farmers and agribusiness people at conservation tillage conference here

About 900 farmers and agribusiness people were expected at the annual Conservation Tillage Conference held in McIntosh Center on Tuesday and Wednesday.

People from Ohio, several other states, and Canada were on hand.

More than 30 agribusiness exhibitors displayed and described the latest in farm products. A two-day lineup of speakers--drawn from extension service, Farm Bureau, and universities--told of the latest advances in farming.

Traffic movements at SR 309 and Napoleon Road to be restricted

Since 2010 27 accidents occurred at intersection

Traffic movements onto and across state Route 309 from Napoleon Road near Allen East School will be restricted beginning Friday, March 10.

From 7:30-8:30 a.m., and from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on school days, traffic will be prohibited from turning left from Napoleon Road onto state Route 309, and from crossing state Route 309 from Napoleon Road. The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will have signs denoting the change in place by noon on March 10.

The new signage will be placed on the far driver’s side on both the north and south approaches on Napoleon Road in clear sight of traffic stopped at the intersection.
