The American Red Cross of Hancock County is opening an emergency shelter for the residents of a Findlay building following a fire on Friday evening.
The shelter is located at 50 North, 339 E. Melrose Avenue in Findlay.
Residents of 223 ½ N. Main St. were driven from their homes by the fire, which began around 6 p.m. Friday evening.
Red Cross volunteers initially opened an Evacuation Center at the Hancock County Red Cross office, 125 Fair St. in Findlay, to give residents a warm, safe place to gather while firefighters battled the blaze. Approximately 16 residents are expected to stay in the Red Cross shelter.

Coloring for adults is the latest craze.
Why? It's relaxing, lowers stress, you end up with something beautiful, coloring can be fun (some books are humorous), and there is a level of nostalgia about coloring like when you were a child.
The Ada Public Library has a Coloring Book Club for those 13 years old and older. Sessions begin at 6 pm. You can come and go as you please between then and closing at 8 pm.
The next session will be Thursday, Feb. 7.
Supplies are provided--the coloring books and color pencils and markers. Crayons aren't usually used because the designs are too detailed for the thicker crayons.
Ada’s newest Main Street business, Century 21 Sunway Realty, cut the ribbon during its open house on Jan. 20.
Becky Reed, broker and owner of Sunway, purchased the former Beacon Realty from Becky Neville of Ada. The office remains at 208 N. Main St., Ada. In addition, an office is at 930 E. Columbus, St., Kenton. The Kenton office number is 419-675-2333.

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. That was the message of David Horning, comedian motivational speaker, who made two presentations in Ada this week.
In this sketch he used drums to make his point.
He spoke to members of the Ada Rotary and, in this photo, made a presentation to the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce. Horning's brother is a freshman at ONU this year.
