Stargazers were treated to an eclipse of a supermoon, the first time since 1987.

This photo was taken at 9:20 p.m. on Sunday when the moon was between the two Ada water towers, which are barely visible to the left and right.

Luckily, clouds did not spoil the viewing in Ada.

A supermoon occurs when the moon is closet to Earth, making the moon appear 14% larger and 30% brighter.

The eclipse lasted for 1 hour and 11 minutes.

Missed it? The next supermoon eclipse will be in 2033.
