Several new construction companies built their first residences in Ada on Thursday and Friday. None had building permits; no matter. Each house will be eaten by New Year’s Day, maybe sooner.

Features of these new structures:
Graham crackers
Icing
M and Ms
Gumballs
Lollipops
Chocolate chips
Tootsie rolls

You get the idea. You’ve probably constructed one or two in your lifetime: They are called gingerbread houses.

You may find these models in holiday clothing catalogs, but don’t look for the sweaters.

There are so-so sweaters and then there are just plain ugly sweaters. And, according to the Ada Kiwanis Club, you are looking at the prizes winners – certified ugliest sweaters in Ada this season.

Mike Hood and his wife, Ann, were winners of the Ugliest Sweater contest at the Christmas luncheon of the Ada Kiwanis Club.

During the party, the club held its annual Christmas auction. The auctioneers were Santa (John Berg) Claus and his Chief Elf (Bruce Neely). Fifty gifts were awarded to successful bidders.
