Mercy Health – St. Rita's Medical Center and the Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy have enhanced and extended their outreach-based partnership that has long provided free preventative and proactive services to those with limited access to health care.
What's new: physicians in St. Rita's Internal Medicine residency program recently joined the HealthWise Mobile Clinic to assist Northwest Ohio residents.

What is in a pattern? Is there a science behind patterns? The shell of a snail is a great example of how nature contains patterns that can be explained by math. The pattern found in a snail's shell can be explained by a phenomenon known as Fibonacci numbers. In addition, our brains naturally attempt to combine information to form patterns to make decisions quickly. With repeated exposure to information, our brain tries to simplify decisions by forming patterns.

As our nation celebrates its independence, so we are celebrating an opening of live events within the United States! Unfortunately this week, the country showed an increase in COVID-19 cases due to the delta variant and there is some concern about its rapid spread.

Many may not realize that to date, COVID-19 has been more deadly in 2021 so far then COVID-19 deaths in 2020.
Why? This is a global statistic and although vaccines have driven down the number of deaths in the United States, the United Kingdom, and China, the worldwide burden of the COVID-19 pandemic is devastating.
Globally, 1.8 million died in 2020 while over 2 million have died in 2021. What is fueling this statistic? The lack of global availability of vaccines and the variant strains of the coronavirus are two of many issues.
