Top-seeded Arlington reeled off 23 unanswered first half points and went on to defeat Ada 53-13 in girls Div. IV sectional basketball final action Saturday evening at Allen East.
After getting a first round tournament bye, 12th-seeded Ada finished its campaign 1-21 with the loss. Meanwhile, sectional champion Arlington advances to the district semifinals February 28 at Ottawa-Glandorf with a 20-4 mark.
The Lady Red Devils will next face Bluffton.
"I am proud of our efforts, we busted our butts from start to finish," said Ada first-year head coach Morgan Bass of the game.
Ruth A. Fletcher, 71, died on Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, at 9 a.m. at her residence in Lima.
She was born on June 29, 1947, in Kenton, Ohio, to Tracy James and Teda (Patton) Fletcher who preceded her in death.
Ruth was the owner and operator of Ada Hair Care Center for 16 years. She previously worked for HRJ Hair Solutions of Lima for 12 years and formerly worked at RCA, Findlay. She was a 1965 graduate of Ada High School.
Glenna Hover Kriewald passed away peacefully Feb. 19, 2019. She was born to Scot and Martha Hover near West Newton, Ohio, on Dec. 15, 1931. She graduated in 1949 from Harrod High School. She earned a nursing degree from Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1953.
Glenna married Don Smith of Harrod, Ohio. They spent several years working in the Quaker City area in southern Ohio. In 1960, they moved to Mesa, Arizona. Don was a prison guard near Florence and Glenna was a surgical nurse for an eye doctor.

Major electrical power outages are causing disruptions in Ada this morning (Monday, Feb. 25).
Portions of the village are without power and late Sunday evening power lines were down on the 500 block of East Lincoln. Those lines have since been secured but power was not able to be restored until the winds subsided, according to a Facebook announcement by the Ada police department.
Ada schools are closed due to lack of power. In addition, the following message was released by the village at 8:39 a.m.:
