Following a pair of home victories against Case Western Reserve and Trine (Ind.), the Ohio Northern women's soccer program capped off an undefeated three-game home stand Saturday, September 15 as the Polar Bears defeated the visiting Alma (Mich.) Scots 3-0 at Kerscher Stadium in Ada.

With Saturday evening's triumph, ONU improves to 3-2-0 on the season while Alma falls to 2-4-0 in 2018.

In a back-and-forth nonconference affair, the Ohio Northern men's soccer program survived a chaotic second half scoring flurry to upend the visiting Oberlin Yeomen 4-2 under the lights at Kerscher Stadium Saturday evening.

With the victory, the Polar Bears earn their second consecutive win and move to 3-2-1 on the campaign. Meanwhile, Oberlin dropped to 0-6-0 in 2018.

WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team swept Thiel (Pa.) 9-0 and defeated Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) 7-2 in a tri-match on Saturday afternoon at the Swanson Tennis Center.

 

Mackenzie Wills, an Ada High School graduate and now a junior at ONU, posted a 4-0 mark on the day, going 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles.

As the 2019 Medicare open enrollment period approaches, Jillian Froment, Director of the Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI) is encouraging those on Medicare to review their drug and health insurance coverage options and select a plan that fits their needs and budget.

The Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP), a division of ODI, will host Medicare Check-Up Day events throughout the state to help consumers compare and select the best plan that meets their unique needs.

Medicare Open Enrollment for 2019 runs from October 15 through December 7. 

ADA - The Ohio Northern women's soccer team defeated Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opponent Trine (Ind.) 3-0 to kick off a two-game weekend set in winning fashion at Kerscher Stadium in Ada Friday evening.

The Polar Bears improve to 2-2-0 on the season by winning their second straight match while Trine falls to 3-3-0.

SPRINGFIELD - The No. 20-ranked Ohio Northern women's volleyball program upset the No. 17-ranked Hope (Mich.) Flying Dutch 25-20, 25-16, and 25-21 in the Polar Bear's opening match at the 2018 Wittenberg Fall Classic in Springfield, Ohio Friday evening.

 

With the victory, Northern moves to 8-2 overall while Hope dropped their first match of the campaign, falling to 7-1 overall.

Junior middle hitter Chelsea Huppert (Bremen, Ind.) provided the spark offensively as she posted 15 kills on 22 total attacks with just one error, resulting in a stratospheric .636 attack percentage. She would also chip in a pair of blocks, two assists, and a dig in the winning effort
