Liberty Baptist Church will have an October Revival at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, through Saturday, Oct 15, at the church which is located at SR 235 and CR 20 north of Ada.

Pastor Lon Taylor said the revival will continue on Sunday, Oct. 16, during Sunday School at 9:30 a.m., the worship service at 10:30 a.m., followed by a carry-in dinner and an afternoon service.

There will be no Sunday evening service this Sunday.
Pastor Ron Blair of Bonnieville, Ky., will be the evangelist for the revival series. All are welcome.

Ada HS students involved in these programs

The Apollo Cosmetology Salon and Spa will open Wednesday, Oct. 12.  The Salon is open 8 to 10:45 a.m.  Services offered include color, cut, styling, perms, manicures pedicures and artificial nails. The Apollo Spa is open 11:40 a.m.- 2:25 p.m. Call 419.998.2901 to set up an appointment for all services. Appointments will be available Wednesday-Friday.

HARROD - Backyard rivals Ada and Allen East battled to a 2-2 tie in Northwest Conference boys soccer action Tuesday night.

Brendan Sheridan and Jon Allen scored the Bulldog goals, while keeper Ace Gamble made two saves in goal.

The tie runs the Ada record to 7-6-1 overall and 2-2-1 in NWC play.

The Bulldogs visit Van Buren October 13.

The Ada cross country team competed at the five-school Hardin County Invitational at Kenton Monday evening.

The Ada boys came in third out of four full squads. The Lady Bulldogs finished fourth out of four full teams, with five represented.

Many new personal records were set by several Ada team members including Brayden Cheney, Nora Dellifield, Olivia Ennis, Dani Waugh and Jil Wolber.

"This is a great way to lead into our conference championship meet this Saturday at Columbus Grove," said first-year head coach Josh Klein.

The Ada Barnyard Farmers 4-H Club concluded their year recently and filed this year-end report with the Icon.

The 2016-2017 Hardin County Fair went great for the Ada Barnyard Farmers. For the rest of the days here is each member's progress:

Win came down to the fifth set at Columbus Grove

COLUMBUS GROVE - Fittingly, the biggest match of the Ada volleyball regular season came down to a fifth set for the first time all season Tuesday night at Columbus Grove.

The visiting Ada squad ran away with a 15-7 win in the decisive final game to beat Grove and capture the Northwest Conference title outright to repeat as league champions.

With the see-saw triumph, the purple and gold Lady Bulldogs finish the regular season 16-6 overall and 8-0 in league play. Grove fell to 14-8 and 7-1    in the NWC with the showdown defeat.
