The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce second annual holiday window decorating contest will begin soon.

Here are the potential windows residents will vote on during Merry on Main on Monday, Dec. 4.

Voted best holiday window decor at Merry on Main last year are Mark and Vicki Southwood of Streamline Insurance Solutions and their daughter Amanda Morrison of Wine and Design, both located at 220 N. Main. For details on voting for this year's best decorated window, CLICK HERE.

DEFIANCE — Sophomore Ryan Bruns (Chickasaw/Marion Local) scored a career-high 36 points and senior Nate Burger (Dayton/Alter) had a career-high 30 points to lead the Ohio Northern men's basketball team to a 106-91 season-opening victory at Defiance Monday evening at the Harrington Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 1-0, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 1-2.

Senior Joey DiOrio (Columbus/Watterson) scored 18 and sophomore Daniel Donner(Belleville/Northmor) added 10 points for ONU.

Shannon Brown holds an autumn centerpiece, perfect for the Thanksgiving table or home decor. Shannon, owner of Carol Slane Florist,  410 S. Main, said she would be happy to make centerpieces or arrangements of any size, and has cut flowers available for those who like to do their own arranging. The shop will be open 9-5 on Tuesday and 9-noon on Wednesday, or phone 419-634-7910 for delivery.

The Ada Presbyterian Women's Guild will sponsor a soup and salad supper, quilt raffle, and auction with proceeds going to missions. The public is invited to the festivities beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Dinner will consist of a variety of eight soups, several salads, and dessert for $6 for adults and $3 for children 3-12 years old.

Eileen Hubbard donated the 48"x40" quilt that she made. Raffle tickets are $1 or 6 for $5 and may be purchased by calling Phyllis Gossel at 419-634-9469 or at the supper that evening.

Nine Ohio Northern student-athletes were named All-Ohio Athletic Conference in football for 2017 in voting conducted by the league's 10 head coaches.

Senior linebacker Zach Schmerge (Wapakoneta), junior receiver Chad Rex (Bradenton, Fla./Lakewood Ranch) and sophomore running back Christiaan Williams (Sidney/Anna) were all First Team All-OAC selections.
