The Ohio Northern women's soccer team is ranked No. 14 in both the D3Soccer.com and the United Soccer Coaches poll.
Northern (17-1-2 overall) is ranked in both polls for the fifth consecutive week after posting a 1-0-1 record in the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament last week.
Northern returns to action Saturday morning at 11:30 am as it hosts Penn St.-Behrend in the first round of the NCAA III Tournament at Kerscher Stadium.
Senior center Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) has been named a Preseason Honorable Mention All-American by D3Hoops.com.
Bullimore returns for her senior campaign in 2017-18 after being named a Women's Basketball Coaches Association Honorable Mention All-American in 2016-17.
The senior was tied for first on the team a season ago, averaging 14.1 points per contest and led the team in rebounds per contest (8.1), blocks per game (1.6), and field goal percentage (.529).
Hardin County Extenstion Educator Mark Badertscher's report on corn and bean crops as of today: The weather is turning into a foe with regards to the completion of harvest in Hardin County. Progress on soybean harvest has been slow over the past couple of weeks with the onset of rain, causing the need for dryer weather to finish the fields that are still out there. Some were double cropped beans that needed the extra time anyway to be ready. Corn harvest has continued until the latest significant rain that has caused fields to become soft. How is the recipient of the Distinguished Citizen of the Year selected? The Town and Gown consists of 10 organizations. The public nominates candidates for the award. Each organization selects someone to the T&G committee, which reviews the nominees and selects the winner.

The Center on Central and Hays Insurance were recognized as new businesses and business owners during the Town and Gown banquet on Monday in McIntosh Center.
JR and Linda Mason are owners of Center on Central event rental center. Ada Lions Club and Ada Music Boosters bingo meet there regularly. It served as a polling place on Tuesday. It has hosted class reunions, wedding rehearsals and dinners, corporate Christmas parties as well as birthday, graduation, and retirement parties. Much work has been complete on renovating the inside and exterior. Kitchen facilities are top notch.
