ADA — The Ohio Northern men's soccer team saw eight different athletes score as ONU defeated Anderson (Ind.) 8-0 on Tuesday evening at Kerscher Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 7-2-1 overall with the victory, while the Ravens drop to 5-4-1.
ONU scored early and often in the contest as senior Grant Cayot (Roanoke, Ind./Blackhawk Christian) scored after the AU keeper mishandled Cayot's shot to give ONU a 1-0 in the second minute of the contest.
Minutes later in the seventh minute, freshman Beelal Hasan (Westerville/Thomas) scored his second goal of the season after finding a ball in traffic and scoring from 10 yards out.
CONVOY - The visiting Ada volleyball team won a five-set marathon at Crestview Tuesday night in a battle of Northwest Conference unbeatens.
The Lady Bulldogs prevailed 22-25, 27-25, 25-16, 22-25, 15-6 to improve to 9-7 overall and 3-0 in the NWC. Crestview fell to 10-3 and 4-1 in the NWC with the five-set loss.
Ada senior ace Melina Woods broke her own school record for kills in match (38) with 48 kills, which is the second-highest match total in Ohio high school annals.
Noteworthy delighted the audience at Vancrest Nursing Home on Sunday. Under the direction of Vicki Mills, Noteworthy sang patriotic tunes, led a hymn-sing, and performed Johnny Mercer's Moon River and Sisters (from White Christmas). Melanie Dyer sang Patsy Cline's Walkin' After Midnight and Crazy, then performed Try Everything from Zooptopia with her daughter Brenna. Singers this year included (left to right) Raina Rausch, Melanie Dyer, and Cindy Bandish. Noteworthy is scheduled to sing at the Mennonite Home in Bluffton on Oct. 28.

He and many other students dressed up for costume day on Wednesday as part of spirit week to drum up interest in Ada Homecoming.
Friday's events include a bonfire in the north parking lot at 5:45 p.m., the announcement of the king and queen at 6:30 p.m., the football game against Columbus Grove at 7 p.m.
The Homecoming dance will be held in the cafeteria from 8-11 p.m. on Saturday. It may be a month before Halloween, but these students are ready now...check out more photos at the bottom of this story.
State school report cards for the 2016-17 school year show Ada schools continue to attain remarkable results. The results were released by the Ohio Department of Education this week.
