FROM FACEBOOK__The Ada Police Department is seeking community partners, businesses, organizations and individuals willing to support the 2026 National Night Out event at Ada War Memorial Park on Wednesday, August 5.

Organizers are seeking donations of girls bike with training wheels, boys youth bike, girls youth bike, bike helmets and gift baskets.

FROM FACEBOOK__The Bluffton Lions Club will host the 58th annual Bluffton Festival of Wheels in downtown Bluffton on Friday, June 19. This event is held rain or shine on Main St. and adjacent blocks.

Main Street opens for car show entry parking at 1:00 p.m., with registration taking place from 1-5:00 p.m. Registration is $12.00.

Judging of cars begins at 5:00 p.m. Awards, including the Top 25 and special trophies, will be announced at 7:30 p.m.

Activities food trucks, 50/50 raffle and dash plaques to the first 250 registered.

Christopher J. Smith, age 64, of Alger, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026 at his residence.

He was born on December 27, 1961in Toledo, Ohio to Charles F. and Suzanne (Werner) Smith.

Christopher is survived by his son, Patrick Smith of Toledo; grandson, Micah West; and eight siblings: Peter (Karen) Smith, John Smith, Gordon Smith, Martin (Karen) Smith, Pam (Larry) Hanley, Steve (Deb) Smith, Suzi (John) Zychowicz and Amy (Jim) Mossing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Greg Smith and Jeff Smith.

Christopher worked as a painter.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 17 for Patsy Spellman Evans at First United Methodist Church, Ada, Ohio.

Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m.

FROM FACEBOOK__ The Ada Police Department has received several complaints this year regarding the use of electric scooters, officially referred to by the State of Ohio as Electric Personal Assistive Mobility Devices.

We would like to remind our community of the laws outlined in Ohio Revised Code 4511.512:

• "Electric scooters" may be operated on sidewalks, bike paths, and roadways where the posted speed limit is under 55 mph

• Operators must follow all standard traffic laws and rules of the road

• Individuals under 18 years of age must wear a helmet
