They came from near and far to see their relatives or friends graduate from Ohio Northern on Sunday.
The university awarded 148 doctor of pharmacy degrees at commencement in the morning and another 388 students were recognized in the afternoon during a ceremony for students receiving undergraduate and master of science in accounting degrees. Receptions were held on campus following the two commencements in the Field House.
But the ceremonies aren’t over. Eighty-seven law students will receive their juris doctor degrees at commencement at 2 p.m. next Sunday May 20, in the Field House.
Ohio Northern University will celebrate an important milestone in the lives of its students during upcoming commencement exercises in the ONU Sports Center Field House. ONU President Daniel DiBiasio will preside over the ceremonies.
The College of Pharmacy and undergraduate colleges, as well as Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) program, will hold their ceremonies on Sunday, May 13, and the College of Law commencement is scheduled for Sunday, May 20.
Ohio Northern University has received a substantial grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to fund scholarships for students in the third and fourth years of the University’s engineering education and math education programs.
The five-year grant, which began May 1, is initially for $777,000 and is expected to eventually total approximately $1.2 million. The funding source is the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program.
Easily overlooked and soon to be demolished, the homely, two-story brick building next to the Heterick Library, Clark Hall, has played an important part of Northern’s history.
Constructed in 1949, Clark Hall was the university’s first purpose-built dormitory. How and why it was built tells a great deal about the university.
