This year's fall colors are extraordinary.

By definition autumn leaf color is a phenomenon that affects the normal green leaves of many deciduous trees and shrubs by which they take on, during a few weeks in the autumn season, various shades of red, yellow, purple, black, blue, orange, magenta, and brown.

One way to appreciate Ada's folliage turning from green to reds, yellows and its wide assortment of other colors is to view a short video from the Ohio Northern Unviersity Art and Design Facebook.

Click here, sit back and enjoy the colors.

Watch 1,000 footballs tossed at the same time

LOTS OF PHOTOS AND A WORLD-RECORD VIDEO AT BOTTOM OF THE STORY -

It was a community event with participants forming the third largest community in Hardin County, after Kenton and Ada.

The community, an estimated village on its own, totaled 1,700 or so, and assembled on the Ada War Memorial Stadium football field on Friday.

Their goal was to set a Guinness World Record of the number of people tossing footballs at the same time.

In other words, if setting a world record was on your bucket list, as Dan Lee, Ada HS principal and mastermind behind the event, announced to the crowd, over the PA system, then you succeeded.

Soybeans are coming off fields around Ada. Yesterday the Icon captured this scene on State Route 81. In the background are the three Ada wiindmills.
