ORLANDO, Fla. — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team began its spring break trip with a 9-0 victory over King's (Pa.) on Sunday evening at the USTA National Tennis Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 5-1, while the Monarchs fall to 1-2.

Junior Ashley Ochsenhirt (Birmingham, Ala./Briarwood Christian) and sophomore Kaleigh Cummins (Springfield/Northeastern) led ONU.

Ochsenhirt won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Cummins won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, and the pair combined for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles.

Schedules follow for softball, baseball, track, boys' tennis, junior high track

With the exception of this week’s state wrestling meet, Ada High School athletes’ focus is spring sports.

Ken Jochims, Ada athletic director, released the schedules for Bulldog spring sports. The schedules are attached at the bottom of this story.

Those sports include:
• Baseball
• Softball
• Track and field
• Boys’ tennis
• Junior high track and field

Spring team photo day is Wednesday, March 14, after school.

The Ohio Northern women's track and field team saw eight members named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Indoor All-Great Lakes Region team for the 2018 indoor season.

The ONU Moot Court teams made school history last weekend when both teams made it to the top 16 in the National Appellate Advocacy competition, which is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the country. The competition, held in Boston, is sponsored by the American Bar Association. Team members included Chris Calpin, Kelly Ranttila, Katie Grimm, and John Willamowski.
