Given to Rotary and on the way to Central America for use

By Monty Siekerman
After 56 years of dental practice in Ada, Dr. Mark Shull retired in August and today he is giving his dental chairs, instruments, and office equipment to Rotary, which will make them available to the people of Belize and Honduras.

The Ada Rotary Club is a member of District 6600, which has an arrangement with M.E.S.A. (Medical Equipment and Supplies Abroad) to collect medical and dental equipment for areas of the world in need.

On this rainy day, Dr. Shull’s equipment was loaded into trucks, taken to a warehouse in Fostoria, and soon will be shipped to Central America.

There will be an open house for Connie Fleming’s 80th birthday on Saturday. The event will be held from 2-4 p.m. at Community Health Professionals, 1200 S. Main St. All are welcome.

Door-to-door drive helps restock food pantry

By Monty Siekerman
Andy Stackert, an Ada Wolf Scout, helps at the Ada Food Pantry on Saturday morning. He is the son of Dennis and Amy Stackert.

The Scouts collected many sacks of nonperishable food when they went door-to-door on Saturday to replenish the pantry supply.

The food pantry is not government run, thus there are no restrictions on who can have free food. The pantry is open from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturdays and from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesdays.
