Parents of Ada School children and community members are invited to hear Kevin Hines at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, in the school auditorium. He will talk about thriving and surviving after a suicide attempt. He will have spoken to students earlier that day.
Hines has an inspirational story of treatment and recovery. He is an international speaker, author, and suicide prevention and mental health activist. He is author of "Cracked, but not Broken: the Kevin Hines Story."
There will be a discussion panel comprised of first responders and mental health professionals after the main speaker.
The Ada Cub Scout Bears took a field trip to the ONU forensics department. Scouts are (from left) Ella Marshall, Chase Jarrett, Timothy Chrissobolis, Dylan Marshall, Brendan Taylor and Joshua Scott. Mrs. Cristin St. Laurent and the Ada Elelmentary third graders organized a canned food drive. More than 1000 items were donated to the Ada Food Pantry last week.

There are races for Liberty Township trustee and Ada Village council in the upcoming Nov. 7 election. There are three candidates for two spots on the township board. There are four open places on the council with five candidates. All registered voters of Ada and Liberty Township vote for township trustee while only Ada North and South precincts vote for council.
