Twenty-two Hardin Leadership participants will be recognized for completing the nine- session program on Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Plaza Inn Restaurant, 491 S. Main St., Mt. Victory.  '

Gathering begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner buffet beginning at 6 p.m.  Representing the class with the “Class Reflections” will be David Dellifield of Ada. The annual meeting for Hardin Leadership will take place following the graduation so alumni are encouraged to attend.

Hardin Leadership 2013 graduates must secure dinner reservations by Friday, Nov. 8 for themselves and their sponsors.  Guests and community leaders are invited with meal reservations of $15 also due by Nov. 8.

The winner of Week 8 of The Icon Football Contest is Brandon Huber . He and Jim Dillman, John Schmutz and Dennis Edinger correctly picked 14 games this week and no contestant predicted either tie-breaker correctly. Huber's entry was the first received. 

Other contestants:

13 correct - Barry Schneck, David Glick, Luke Amstutz, Mark Delisle, Mark Sommers, Randy Stewart, Rich Johnson, Seth Burkholder, Tater Hooker and Tom Clark.

The Ada midget football team raised more than $10,000 on Oct. 13, during its first-ever Cancer Walk at War Memorial Stadium in Ada. All proceeds were donated to Not By Choice Outreach in Kenton.

More than 300 Hardin County residents preregistered and participated in this event.  Organizers thanked them for their support as well as from more than 100 sponsors and countless donors.

Prior to the start of the walk, an invocation was given by Steve Hellman. This was followed by three featured speakers:
• David Dellifield,
• Debbie Combs Shepherd,
• and CEO/Founder of Not By Choice Outreach (NBCO), Marcia Retterer.

The Ada High School Marching Bulldogs took first place in marching band competition held at Copley High School on Saturday. 

Class B and C (based on school enrollment) were combined at this competition and despite being a smaller school and much smaller band, Ada was still able to come away with the first place trophy. 

Undeterred by the extremely cold, windy conditions, the band received its first-ever superior rating for music.

Have you started looking at colleges for next year?
Yes. Akron, Ohio State University and Bowling Green State University. I’m interested in psychology or social work.

The American Red Cross of Northwest Ohio announces the resignation of Collene Conley, Community Chapter Executive of the American Red Cross of Hardin County. Conley resigned her position effective Sept. 24.

The American Red Cross thanks Conley for her service and dedication to the Red Cross mission, and wishes her well in the future. Conley served as the Hardin County Community Chapter Executive for over five years and she and her cadre of volunteers created a Red Cross service delivery model that can only be described as excellent.
