Volleyball team Volley for the Cure on Tuesday; football team hosts pink out game Oct. 25

Ada High School's volleyball team says to switch your purple and gold for pink during annual Volley for the Cure game on Tuesday. Ada entertains Paulding at the game.

Cancer fighters and survivors will be honored during the game and volleyball moms and players will have a bake sale set up.  Fans are encouraged to wear pink at the game.

Then, on Friday, Oct. 25, will be a "pink out" football game, focusing on breast cancer. The Ada varsity football team will host Paulding on the 25th and the team invites fans to pack the stands with lots of pink.

Ada schools menu is now available for October.

Due to fog, Ada school is on a 3-hour delay schedule. The school day will still end at the normal dismissal times of 3:10 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Just ask an Ada elementary student

Did you know that Legos can talk? Just listen.

“I’m unique because I’m good at drawing.”
“I’m unique because I have a lot of friends.”
“I’m unique because I love reading and math.”

Legos climb the walls at Ada elementary this month and the words on the Legos are written by Ada elementary students.

Using the theme “connect” – appropriate for the plastic blocks – students in Kindergarten through sixth grade are understanding what connects them as a class, school and community.

During a focus time earlier this month, each student identified one way that student is unique and one way that student connects to someone else in class.

Here's Ada's Main Street last Saturday

Elements of a small town weekend festival:
• Close Main Street
• Watch a parade
• Lots of food
• Free pony rides
• Queen contestants
• and, most important, stop and shop at over 140 craft and community booths.

Ken Collins took a walk – actually several – up and down the midway of Saturday's Ada Area Chamber of Commerce Harvest and Herb Festival. He shares a dozen or so photos with viewers below.
