Several Ada and Liberty Township issues on the ballot, in addition to national and state decisions

Ada and Liberty Township voters’ will cast ballots on a wide range of  local, state and national candidates and issues on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

The Icon provides the following information about voting.

You may vote early at the Hardin County Board of Elections, located in the Hardin County Court House, Kenton on the following schedule:

Vancrest of Ada has lots of events planned in November. In fact, something takes place very day during the month according to Randy Cox, administrator.

These events and several features on Vancrest are listed in "The Ada Articles," the Vancrest monthly newsletter.

The newsletter features as employee spolight, resident spotlight, several new features coming to Vancrest plus the daily activity calendar.

In December, January and February

OSU Extension has partnered with TAP (Training Achievement Program) Series to offer an on-line version of Level 2 Food Safety training, which meets all ODH requirements.

You can complete the online course at your own speed and at a time that works for you. Once training is completed, you will take a proctored certification exam in Kenton or Ada.

Registration fee of $150 is non-refundable for both the online class and exam. 

There is an additional fee of $25, if the selected exam date is rescheduled.  The ServSafe Manager exam is proctored by an OSU Extension Educator who is a Certified ServSafe Proctor.

10th anniversary celebrated on Tuesday; over 100 in attendance

ReStore Community Center celebrated its 10th anniversary on Tuesday evening with more than 100 people in attendance for dinner, birthday cake, and to hear several speakers who have been involved with the effort from Day One or who are among today's leaders.

A slide show of people and activities, current and in the past, showed on a screen during dinner.

Uranus and Neptune 8 to 10 p.m.

The ONU Astronomy Club will host a free event for the public at the ONU Observatory on Friday, Nov 4, from 8-10 p.m., according to Dr. Jason Pinkney, professor of Physics and Astronomy.

The theme is "The Blue Planets: Uranus and Neptune." The outermost two Jovian planets both have bluish hues attributed to methane in their atmospheres.  Each planet has an interesting history and unique characteristics.  Uranus is tilted about 98 degrees onto its side so it has the most extreme seasons.
