The end is in sight...the end of the school year.

Here are some news items from the Ada school website related to school winding down for the year.

The Model A’s are coming Ada!

On Thursday, June 23, 39 automobiles – and 80 persons - from the Penn-Ohio Model A Ford Club will spend the day in Ada.

Their visit here is part of the club’s 2016 Back Roads Tour taking place from June 19-24. The cars in the club represent the years 1928 to 1931.

In coordination with the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce, Deb Curlis, chamber president, said that the town is going to throw a party for the visitors.

If April showers bring May flowers, this year's shower produced some of the most memorable flowers ever.

Ken Collins took a May walk around Ada and it wasn't difficult to find the results of April rains.

Here is a collection of flowers he photographers.

If you have a green thumb (even if you don't) here's a neat volunteer opportunity for you from the ReStore Facebook page:

"If anyone is interested in helping with the Community Garden, located on the ONU. campus, contact Chris DiBuasio at 419-230-4417 or 419-772-2780.

You will be volunteering for planting, weeding, watering and harvesting."

What are waiting for?

Passes for the Village of Ada’s public pool are now available for purchase at the village’s Administrative Office at 115 W. Buckeye St.

Currently, there’s an “early bird pre-season sale” in effect.  Ada residents and taxpayers may purchase individual passes for $35.  Non-residents/non-taxpayers may buy their individual passes for $45.

The pre-season sale ends June 13.  After that date, the price of the passes goes up by $10, to $45 for Ada residents and taxpayers and $55 for non-residents/non-taxpayers.

A movie crew will visit the Ada area in June to film a Civil War battle scene.

In hopes of distributing the film nationwide, the director turned to Ohio Northern University graduate, Jordan Kimes (BFA/studio arts ’15) to assist in production.

Kimes, the production manager for the film, “A Spy Not Like Us,” is hoping to begin her film career. She began working on the movie in December, right around graduation.

While a student at Ohio Northern, Jordan double-majored in studio arts (with a concentration in 2D) and theatre design & international production.
