With the highest temperature reading in the past seven days at 32 and the highest “low” reading at 21, there’s lots of reasons for school delays and bundling up extra tight this month.

Ada High School will hold its annual financial aid presentation for students, parents and community members. The meeting will be held Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. in the media center.
A representative from Ohio Northern University will provide information that is applicable to all colleges and universities. Topics to be discussed will be completing the FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, sources for aid, and specific concerns of those attending. The meeting is open to the public.
Due to the number of delays and cancellations over the past two weeks, Ada grade cards for Grades 6-12 will not be going home until Tuesday, Jan. 20, according to the school website.
The school wishes to give students every opportunity to complete end of semester assessments and assignments that may have been delayed because of inclement weather.

1/9: End of 9 weeks
This marks the end of the first semester. Grade cards will be sent home the following Friday.
Liberty Natinal Bank, Ada, invites Icon viewers to stop in to the Main Street office on Friday and vote for your favorite soup.
It's the bank's "Soup" er Bowl Cook off. There will be several soups available to taste. Persons stopping by the bank may vote for their favorite flavor.
The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce wants to recognized Ada's outstanding business of 2014 and you can help make the selection.
The chamber is currently accepting nominations for the 2014 award. An application form is an attachment at the bottom of this story.
The winner will be announced at the chamber's annual celebration dinner at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the Wishing Well in McIntosh Center on ONU's campus.
It's down to four teams: Green Bay, New England, Seattle and Indianapolis.
But no matter who makes the trip to the Super Bowl, Ada will in on every play. Wilson Football recently created a brief video of the Ada Wilson factory.
