The next meeting of the Hardin County Democratic Central and Executive Committees will be held Wednesday, March 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Henry’s Restaurant, 995 North Detroit Street, Kenton. Committee members should enter the north doors and go to the loft area on the right. Those who would like to eat and order from the menu are invited to come at 6:00 pm. to dine together.
The Committees will review the Hardin County Democrats Presidents' Day Luncheon which was held last month with Robert L. Fry, candidate for the United States House of Representatives (Fifth Congressional District) as the keynote speaker.
The Hardin County Cattle Producers will hold their annual Beef Banquet on Saturday, March 22 in the Community Building at the fairgrounds, starting at 6:00 p.m.
Pre-sale adult tickets are $13, children (ages 6-18) are $6.50, and 2013 Hardin County Junior Fair Beef Barn Exhibitors are free with a reservation given at 419-674-2297 or through any Cattle Producers Director by March 21. Tickets at the door will be $15. Children 5 and under are admitted free.
Ohio Strengthening Families Initiative is asking parents of pre-schoolers to complete a survey to assist with an April event at Ada Exempted Village Schools. The survey is an attachment at the bottom of this story.
The survey is part the spring Kindergarten screening information event open to all families in Hardin and Hancock counties and the surrounding areas.

Ada Friends, a mentoring program involving Ohio Northern University students teaming up with youth (called "Littles") from Ada schools, are headed to the zoo.
Actually, the zoo is coming the Ada Friends, according to Austin Hilverding, student coordinator of the program.
"The Columbus Zoo Mobile provides outreach programs to schools and groups just like Ada Friends," Hilverding told The Icon.
"They are coming to Ada on Saturday, March 29, where they will be set up in the ONU the Chapel Sanctuary," he added.
The Apollo Career Center Early Childhood Education (ECE) program is hosting a fund-raising auction titled Heart 2 Art on Monday, March 10, from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Apollo Career Center.
Ready, Set, Grow Preschool will hold a family night program “The Importance of Early Literacy,” later this spring according to Jami Dellifield. In addition, information on two summer camps is now available.
