The Village of McGuffey has reported that a contractor will begin changing out all water meters on December 29. Some discoloration of water may occur.

The change out will take several days.

The 2022 Conservation Tillage Club breakfast program series will begin on Thursday, January 13 at the Plaza Inn Restaurant in Mt. Victory. Each session will start at 7:30 am with a complimentary buffet breakfast followed by the program at 8:00 a.m.  Other sessions will be held on January 27, February 10 and 24.

The Village of Ada has announced a refuse rate increase. Rumpke refuse rates will be increasing by $2.00 with the December 2021 utility billing cycle.

The rate has been $17.25 each month and will increase to $19.25 as per ordinance #2021-2. Village council approved this increase on October 5.

The Municipal Building will be closed on  Monday, January 3, 2022.

If you have a water or sewer emergency when the offices are closed, contact the Hardin County Sheriff at 419-673-1268. Dispatch will contact the Ada Public Works Department. In such an event, $48.00 fee is added onto the resident's water bill.

The University Club II Scholarship Committee is accepting applications for its annual $1,000 college scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior college student who has graduated from a Hardin County (Ohio) high school.

The Upper Scioto Valley Ambulance District held its annual Christmas and Awards Banquet on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the Alger Social Center. EMS Chief Doug LaRue opened the event with a moment of silence for members who had passed away and those who are ill, followed by a prayer lead by EMT Curtis Engelhardt. Members and their families were thanked for their sacrifice to keep the community safe and sound. 

The Ada Schools issued a community update at 8:33 p.m. on December 22 regarding the death of an Ada student. From Superintendent Robin VanBuskirk:

"Dear Bulldog Community,

"Our school community has suffered a tragic loss involving the death of one of our high school students today. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this time.

"To help support each other, we will have a CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) team at the school tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 23, from 2:00-3:30. Please enter through the south door. We will gather in the cafeteria.
