he Ohio Northern women's basketball team had 14 student-athletes register points in its 84-56 win against Marietta in front of nearly 900 fans in the first game of Saturday's Cystic Fibrosis doubleheader at the ONU Sports Center.
Sophomore Jaidyn Hale's (Lima/Bath) 11 points led the Polar Bears' (11-4 overall, 5-3 OAC) balanced scoring attack. Junior Sydney Ward (Columbus/Arlington) and senior Abby Weeks (West Chester/Mount Notre Dame) each scored 10 points.
Additionally, freshman Brynn Serbin (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) chipped in eight points, five assists, and three rebounds. Serbin had a game-best +/- of 23.

ADA - Visiting Ridgemont raced to an 11-0 lead and went on to post a 60-36 win over Hardin County rival Ada in non-league girls basketball action on a rare Monday night game.
The Bulldog girls dropped to 5-11 after the defeat, while the Lady Gophers improved to 5-9 with the surprisingly lopsided victory.
"It was super disappointing; we came out super flat," admitted Ada second-year head coach Morgan Bass. "We talked about effort and attitude, two things we can control, at halftime.
"The second half was better but there is no excuse for the start," she continued. "It's frustrating."
Ohio Northern suffered through a cold-shooting afternoon in a 78-55 men's basketball loss to No. 8-ranked Marietta on Saturday at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears (6-9 overall, 2-6 Ohio Athletic Conference) were just 20-of-70 from the floor for 28.6 percent, which included a 10-of-37 effort (27.0) from beyond the 3-point arc.
Junior Thomas Phillips ((Kenton) led three ONU players in double figures in scoring with 15 points, tying his career-high with five made 3-pointers. Freshman C.J. Napier (Miamisburg/Bishop Fenwick) added 13 points and sophomore Brandon Waugh (Columbus/Northland) had 11 points.

ADA - Host Ada dominated county foe Hardin Northern 65-46 Saturday night to post a decisive non-league boys basketball rivalry victory.
The Bulldogs jumped out to an 18-7 first period lead and never trailed in the game. Playing well, Ada extended the margin to 34-14 at intermission. HN rallied within nine late in the third stanza but could get no closer.
The Bulldogs pulled away with a 19-10 fourth period to win by 19. Hard-driving junior playmaker Brandon Hull continued his strong play with a game-high 27 points and several assists.
If given the opportunity, Martrina Parks wouldn't change a thing. Even though the path wasn't clear or devoid of bumps along the way, she wouldn't go back and course correct. Everything Parks has gone through has made her into the player and leader she is today.
Parks isn't like many of teammates or opponents. She didn't gravitate toward the sport of basketball at a very young age.
Parks began her athletic endeavors in the competitive cheer world. It wasn't until middle school when Parks' father encouraged her to give basketball a try.
While post moves and ball-handling skills would come eventually, one thing was evidently clear from the beginning.
