The Ohio Northern men's soccer team won all five of the Special Awards and had seven players named All-OAC in voting conducted by the league's 10 head coaches.

Senior Nate Bascom was named OAC Forward of the Year, senior Mac Church earned OAC Goalkeeper of the Year and senior Chris Matejka was voted Midfielder of the Year.

In addition, senior Austin Windsor was named OAC Defender of the Year and head coach Brent Ridenour was voted OAC Coach of the Year.

Bascom, Matejka, Windsor and Church all were named First Team All-OAC as were senior Cameron Johnson and freshman Keegan Ross.

Three Ohio Northern players were named All-Ohio Athletic Conference in volleyball for 2012 in voting conducted by the league's 10 head coaches.

Senior outside hitter Ellen Grenert was named First Team All-Conference, senior setter Kelsie Zumberger was named Second Team All-OAC freshman outside hitter Ellie Gillespie was named Honorable Mention All-Conference.

Gillespie was also named the OAC Freshman of the Year.

Grenert is now a two-time All-OAC honoree after earning Second Team All-OAC kudos as a junior in 2011.

Senior Tate Humphrey has been named OAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Humphrey also earned the same honor for the week of October 22.

On Saturday, Humphrey completed 27 of 35 passes for 310 yards and four touchdowns, as ONU defeated Wilmington 51-7.

He also ran for 31 yards on seven carries.

On the season, Humphrey had 1,506 yards passing and 16 touchdowns.

In addition, he has alo rushed for 276 yards and four touchdowns.

The Polar Bears are 4-5 overall and 4-4 in OAC play.

The Ohio Northern women's volleyball team will return to the NCAA Tournament and face off against defending national champion and No. 3-ranked Wittenberg in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament in Grand Rapids, Mich.

This will be the Polar Bears 28th appereance in the 31-year history of the NCAA III Tournamnent.

Ohio Northern will play the Tigers on Thursday at a time to be determined.

The ONU/Wittenberg winner will face the either No. 4 Hope (Mich.) or No. 12 Otterbein in the second round on Friday.

The Regional finals are slated for Saturday.

The Ohio Northern women's basketball team was chosen to finish second out of 10 teams in the OAC Women's Basketball Preseason poll in voting done by the league's 10 head coaches.

No. 6 and defending OAC champion Mount Union was tabbed to finish first with 79 points and seven first place votes.

ONU was picked to finish second with 73 points and two first place votes, followed by Baldwin Wallace who received 62 points and one first place vote.

Northern finish the 2011-12 campaign with a 21-6 record and 14-4 mark in the OAC.

The Polar Bears also made their first apperance in the OAC Tournament Championship game since 1989.
