Men's tennis wins 7-2

TIFFFIN — Sophomores David Hayman(Westerville/South) and Jake Abbott(Kenton) led the Ohio Northern men's tennis team to a 7-2 Ohio Athletic Conference victory at Heidelberg on Saturday afternoon at the Heidelberg Tennis Courts.

The Polar Bears improve to 11-8 overall and are 3-4 in OAC play, while the Student Princes fall to 3-12, 2-5.

Hayman won his seventh consecutive singles match by posting a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles.

Abbott won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and the duo combined to win 9-8(4) at No. 2 doubles.

Men's lacrosse loses to league leader

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team battled league-leading John Carroll tough for the full 60 minutes before falling in a tight 11-8 decision on Saturday afternoon at Don Shula Stadium.

The Polar Bears fall to 9-5 overall and are 4-2 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Blue Streaks improve to 8-4, 6-0.

Women's lacrosse falls

The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team dropped a 27-5 decision to John Carroll on Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.

ONU softball loses to Heidelberg

The Ohio Northern softball team fell 4-3, 4-1 on Senior Day in a twinbill against Heidelberg at the ONU Softball Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears fall to 23-11 overall and 9-7 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Student Princes improve to 24-9-1, 13-2-1.

ONU honored seniors Megan Hupp (Delaware/Olentangy) and Paige Ordean (Fort Loramie) prior to the contests.

ONU women win Polar Bear invite

The No. 9 nationally ranked Ohio Northern outdoor women's track and field team celebrated it Senior Day with a first place victory at the annual Polar Bear Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Kerscher Stadium.

The Polar Bears improve to 69-4 overall with the first place finish.

The Ohio Northern outdoor men's track and field team posted a second place finish among 8 schools at the annual Polar Bear Invitational to celebrate Senior Day at Kerscher Stadium.

The Polar Bears improve to 57-15 overall.

Cody (Findlay/Liberty-Benton), Eric Collins (Strongsville), Cully Gordon (Holmesville/West Holmes), Andrew Harden (Dayton/Vandalia-Butler), Matthew Hommer (Swartz Creek, Mich./Lake Fenton), Evan Murtha (Pickerington/North), Cameron Rusnak (Lorain/Open Door Christian), Kase Schalois (Van Wert), Lucas Shumate (Wapakoneta/Spencerville) and Adam Smith (Rocky River).
