State Route 81 work east of Ada

This week, State Route 81 at Township Road 55, east of Ada, will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for drainage tile repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage.

Mock accident takes place leading up to prom - serves a purpose

Metal grinds against metal, glass shatters, bones break, blood splatters, tires screech to a sudden halt.

Then silence.

Only smoke and dust quietly drift in the air.

Cries of pain and anguish begin.

A witness calls 911, gives details as best she can...where the accident occurred, how many people involved, how badly injured, pleading, "Please send help immediately."

About 300 Ada students, grades 9-12, experienced a mock accident Friday afternoon in the parking lot at the school.

Prof. Brant to give Law Day address in Findlay

Professor of Law Joanne C. Brant will deliver the keynote address at the 60th annual Law Day breakfast sponsored by Findlay/Hancock County Bar Association at the Findlay Country Club on Friday, April 28.  Each year FHCBA observes national Law Day to commemorate the rule of law, the judiciary and its place in American society. Prof. Brant will address this year’s theme in a presentation titled “Equality, Past and Present.”

ONU hosts track/field Invitational tomorrow

The No. 34-ranked Polar Bears will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday afternoon as they host the annual Polar Bear Invitational at Kerscher Stadium.

 Northern will recognize seniors A.J. Cody, Eric Collins, Cully Gordon, Andrew Harden, Matthew Hommer, Evan Murtha, Cameron Rusnak, Kase Schalois, Lucas Shumate and Adam Smith prior to competition at Kerscher Stadium.

The invitational will feature 10 teams ... Field events are set to begin at 11 amwith track events to follow at noon ... The Polar Bears enter the invitational after posting a fourth place finish at the All-Ohio Championships.

ONU Track/Field Invitational set for Saturday

The No. 9-ranked Ohio Northern women's outdoor track and field team is set to celebrate Senior Day on Saturday morning at the annual Polar Bear Invitational at Kerscher Stadium.

Prior to competition, Northern will recognize seniors Rebecca Carman, Kelsey Commager, Meagan Ellinger, Allie Gast, Paige Giessler, Nicole Huber, Renee Kraft, Genevieve Marchese, Elizabeth Martin, Joanna Messerly, Michelle Mosler, Rebecca Olashuk and Kendra Paul.

Northern is coming off of a second place finish at the All-Ohio Championships ... Three schools records fell for the Polar Bears at the meet. 

The life of Tasha Tudor to be described

Members of the Hardin County Herb Society will meet at 2 pm on Saturday at Vancrest to hear about children's author Tasha Tudor. The meeting is open to residents of Vancrest and the public.
Martha Cramer of Forest will tell tales of the unique lifestyle of the award-winning artist and her relationship with Ada area residents. Tasha Tudor lived the simple life.
