Here's mud in your eye

They played dirty at the Aug. 27 Founders Hall mud volleyball tournament on the ONU campus. But, that's the game. The mud volleyball tournament has been a Residence Life tradition at ONU for approximately 25 years. It helps usher in the new academic year and serves an important purpose. Proceeds from the event support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library for Hardin County. ONU’s Office of Residence Life is the largest annual sponsor of this initiative, which provides monthly books to children.

Easter House Bed and Breakfast hosts next "Business After Hours"

The next Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance "Business After Hours" is Thursday, Sept. 22, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Easter House Bed and Breakfast, 508 N. Main St. Ada.

Alliance staff will host extended community office hours to welcome members and the general public to exchange ideas, discuss business and community needs and answer any questions about the Alliance activities, programs and events.

Ada school evaulated as precautionary measure; back in session

First, there was a two-hour fog delay this morning at Ada schools.

Then, at approximately 11 a.m. a gas regulator was broken resulting in a precautionary evacuation of the buildings. Emergency personnel were dispatched, according to the Ada schooll e-mail alert system.

The problem was fixed. All students are safely back in class at this time.

Brandt Miller receives diploma from Graduate School of Banking

Brandt Miller, AVP, Commercial and Ag Lender for Liberty National Bank was awarded a diploma on Aug. 12, at commencement exercises during the 72nd annual session of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The School, sponsored by state bankers associations from across the central United States, as well as the University of Wisconsin-Madison, was established in 1945 to provide bankers with an opportunity for advanced study and research in banking, economics and leadership.

After wins Ada boys' soccer stands 3-1; girls' tennis moves to 3-3

Ada boys blank Bearcats

SPENCERVILLE - The Ada boys soccer team started its Northwest Conference season off on the right foot with a 3-0 shutout win at Spencerville Saturday.

The Bulldogs improved to 3-1 and 1-0 in the NWC with the win.

Logan Williams paced the victorious offense with two goals and one assist. Terry Sheridan contributed one goal and an assist.

Ace Gamble was credited with three saves in goal as he and the Bulldog defense recorded their first shutout.

Ada has outscored its opposition 23-8 so far in four matches this season.
