Here's what's happening in this Icon "Weekend" edition

It’s an Icon Weekend. And, there’s lots going on.

Ada youth catch the Olympic spirit - 10 photos that capture the moment

Everyone is in the Olympic spirit. Even in Ada.

Ken Collins took these photos during the Ada Public Library K-5 Olympics earlier this week on the former Ada Masonic Temple lot, adjacent to the library.

The event was part of the library's summer reading program.

Middle high and high school students had their Olympics later.

Ada VFW expands July 16 car show - here's the details

The Ada VFW will expand its car show this year after a successful first year.

A collection of vehicles will be on display in the organization's big parking lot on Saturday afternoon, July 16.

New this year will be a truck category. Last year's event drew 40 cars and 15 motorcycles.

Registration ($10) is from 2 to 4 p.m., judging from 4 to 6 p.m., awards presented at 6:30 p.m.

Trophies will be awarded for car, bike, and truck categories, best of show, people's choice award, participant's award, mayor's choice award.

Country-style breakfast July 2 in Alger

The Alger Memorial Festival Committee is sponsoring a country-style breakfast on Saturday, July 2,  from 7 to 11 a.m.

Serving biscuits, sausage gravy, hash-browns, scrambled eggs, fried apples, sausage patties and beverage.

Suggested donation is $7. All-you-can-eat (on premises only). Carry out is available, Can’t get there? Call 419- 679-8460 (not long distance) for free local delivery.

HCCBA launches summer Buy Local Week: June 20-26

The Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance announces its summer Buy Local Week, Monday June 20, to Sunday, June 26.

"Shop local...eat local...and enjoy all things local, as we support our locally owned and independently operated businesses, restaurants and retail shops June 20 – 26," said Jon Cross of the Alliance.
