Ohio Democratic Party political director speaks to Hardin County Democrats

Liz Walters, Ohio Democratic Party Political Director spoke with the Hardin County Democrats Central and Executive Committee members and guests at their last meeting. 

She gave statewide and Hardin County results for the past two presidential and gubernatorial elections.  One of the most revealing statistics was the result of redistricting following the 2010 census.

Proposed OHSAA tournament division changes vote fails

Seven of the nine proposed Ohio High School Athletic Association constitution and bylaw revisions passed as voted upon by OHSAA member schools, Commissioner Daniel B. Ross, Ph.D., has announced. Highlighting the voting was approval of a significant change to the transfer bylaw, but a proposal to change how schools are placed into their tournament divisions for team sports failed for the third consecutive year. Overall, changes were approved to two constitution items and five bylaw items.

Petunias are the flower of the summer in front of McIntosh Center on the ONU campus.

Music on Main returns downtown Ada on June 14

Music on Main returns to downtown Ada this summer, thanks to the Buy Ada First committee.

The first summer event is from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 14, at the Depot park. Music will be provided by WONB, 94.9 FM, which includes music from the 1950s to today.

The Ada Rotary Club will hold a chicken barbecue dinner during the event. The dinners will be available at Hays Insurance.

The Buy Ada First committee invites residents to shop in downtown stores, buy a barbecue dinner, bring a lawn chair and spend time with friends and neighbors downtown.

The second Music on Main is Friday, July 12.

Ada Icon accepted into membership of Local Independent Online News Publishers

The Ada Icon and Bluffton Icon were accepted into membership this week of LION Publishers (Local Independent Online News Publishers).

This is the second online association that the Icons are members. The Icons also belong to the Online News Association (ONA).
