Ada Kindergarten registration March 9-13
Ada schools Kindergarten registration for 2015-16 takes place Monday through Friday, March 9-13, according to Robin VanBuskirk, principal.
Registration is open from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. In addition, registration times are from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday, March 11-12.
"Your child will not need to attend with you during the registration," said VanBuskirk. During registration parents and caregivers will be able to set up a time for the children's kindergarten screening. That takes place May 5 and 6.
During registration next week the school needs copies of the following:
• Child's birth certificate
• Social Security card
• Immunization records
• Custody papers, if necessary
• Proof of residency
The school will not allow registration without these documents. Registration takes about 30 minutes.
Immunizations required for Ada Kindergarten entrance follow:
• 5 doses of DTaP/DTP/DT (diptheria, tetanus, pertussis)
• 4 doses of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)
• HIB is not mandatory
• 3 doses of Hep B (hepatitis B)
• 2 doses of Varicella (chickenpox)
VanBuskirk said that if immunization requirements are incomplete at registration, the school will ask parents to get what is needed and provide the new dates to the school nurse before the first week of school in August.
If immunizations are still not complete by the first day of the 2015-16 school year, or if parents have not provided a birth certificate, the child will not be allowed to attend school until all missing documents are provided.
