No, you didn't step into a time warp - it's just the 51st OVI, Company B visiting Ada
If you were in Ada on Saturday you may have thought you stepped back in time.
That is if you saw the 51st Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Company B, set up camp in Ada. Not to worry. The group is a living history organization.
The company members had a demonstration for ONU Civil War classes. They will be at Appomattox on April 15, during the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's assassination.
Members are dedicated to bringing to life the life of the American Civil War soldier by recreating the daily life, camps and battles using the equipment and uniforms of the Federal Infantry Soldier in as authentic manner as possible for the education of the public.
The 51st OVI, Co., B is the host of the Battle on the Ohio Erie Canal Civil War Reenactment held in Zoar, Ohio. The next event is Sept. 19-20, and is Ohio's largest Civil War event.
The organization welcomes the whole family and its Civilian Ladies Group is very active in portraying the role of the civilian during the War Between the States.
