Celebrate Earth Day in Ada
Mark Hilan and Amy Eddings at Easter House, 508 N. Main St., Ada, invite Icon viewers to an Earth Day event at their home from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, April 22. The Victorian “painted lady,” known by many as the “Easter Egg House,” will be the scene of a free talk on fermented foods and their health benefits. The couple host Fermentation on Wheels’ Tara Whitsitt, who travels the country in an old school bus to promote making one’s own sauerkraut, sourdough and pickles. It’s free. A potluck dinner will be available. Bring a dish to share, as well as your own starter cultures. Some will be available for purchase for $10. Call 347-786-0592 for more info.
