Northern picked 4th in OAC volleyball preseason coaches poll

Ohio Northern was picked to finish fourth in the Ohio Athletic Conference in volleyball this fall in voting conducted by the league's 10 head coaches.
The Polar Bears received 56 points in the coaches poll.
Mount Union was tabbed as the preseason favorite with 78 points and six first place votes, Heidelberg was second with 71 points and three first place votes and Otterbein was third with 67 points and the final first place vote.
The Polar Bears went 14-16 overall and finished fourth in the OAC with a 5-4 mark in 2011 under 22nd-year head coach Kate Witte.
Ohio Northern will open its 2012 campaign Aug. 31-Sept. 1 with the 32nd annual ONU Invitational at the ONU Sports Center.
Northern will host Wooster at 3 pm in the first match of the tournament on Aug. 31.
