Phyllis Scott was a 1954 graduate of McGuffey High School
Phyllis Carol (Puckett) Scott, 78, died on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at 5:59 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health Systems, Lima.
She was born on Aug. 8, 1936, in McGuffey, Ohio, to Lark and Rebecca (Hackworth) Puckett who preceded her in death. On April 14, 1956, in Harrod, Ohio, she married Elmer Lee Scott and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2004.
Phyllis was a homemaker. She attended the Alger First United Methodist Church, Alger. She led a Wednesday evening Bible study in her home. She was a 1954 graduate of McGuffey High School and attended Ohio Northern University, Ada. She enjoyed meeting with her 1954 McGuffey High School classmates monthly.
She is survived by her children: Cami (Andy) Nichelson of Kenton, Kevin (Brenda) Scott of Waynesfield and Erin (Casey) Hennigan of Mechanicsburg; nine grandchildren: Ryan (Paulette) Scott, Jennifer (Josh) Yerly, Scott (Ashley) Nichelson, Rebecca (Shane) Heckman, Jason (Maureen) Scott, Angela Scott, Mark Nichelson, Catelyn Hennigan and Tyler Hennigan; six great grandchildren: Gwendolyn Scott, Vivienne Scott, Nora Nichelson, Liam Nichelson, Rhys Scott and Wyatt Yerly.
She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Lee Scott and a great granddaughter, Adeline Belle Scott.
Funeral serve.ices will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, at Alger First United Methodist Church, 101 E. Montville St., Alger, with Pastor Andrew Burns and Rev. Calvin Waugh officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, June 5, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alger First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund Alger.
