“We are reaching out into the community, trying to do what the community needs,” said Dana Walters, executive director. “We are not just being in ReStore but being out there helping with other events, outside our four walls.”

Here are some of the planned activities:

• Picnic in the Park
ReStore provides free lunch and games and activities for children daily. All are welcome.
Picnic in the Park runs from June 1-Aug. 17, noon-1 p.m., at War Memorial Park.
Thank you to Padrone’s Pizza for their third year of providing our Friday lunch in the park.

Family Fun Fridays
ReStore will provide concessions at the Freed Center’s summer movies. Join us for popcorn, pop, and cotton candy.

• August 7 - Alexander and the Terrible Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
All movies are shown at dusk on ONU’s “Tundra.”

Ada Farmer’s Market: Join ReStore at the Ada Community Farmer’s Market. The market began June 4. The market is every Thursday, 3:30 – 6:30 p.m., at the Ada Historic Railroad Depot. Interested vendors call 419-558-1015.

Gospel Sing: Ada’s 4th annual Gospel Sing offers an evening of music and fellowship for singers and listeners. The Gospel Sing is Saturday, June 27, 4 p.m., at 2845 Heritage Place. For more information, call 419-233-4476.

Community Garden: Just off Main Street, 12 gardeners are working together to create an oasis of flowers, fruits and vegetables. “All the gardeners are very cooperative in helping weed and watching over each other’s gardens,” says Karen Ward, one of the three garden coordinators with Melissa Eddings and Beth Gray.

Future plans may include a mural, capturing the garden’s energy in art. Participate in the garden or donate to its efforts. Checks can be made out to ReStore, earmarked to Community Garden.
