Bill Robinson and the Cleveland Indians: Here's a story you won't want to miss
Have you ever talked with Bill Robinson about his experience working with the Cleveland Indians?
Bill was an 18-year-old recent graduate of Cleveland East High School, at the time.
A story by Zack Meisel, Northeast Ohio Media Group, posted a fascinating story about Bill and the Indians and Larry Doby, the first African American baseball player in the American League.
Here’s what Robinson says about Doby:
"Larry deserves as much as Jackie Robinson, but he doesn't get it because he was No. 2. I think Larry, in some ways, deserved it more than Robinson, because I think he caught as much hell and as much abuse and was degraded as much, if not more, and yet, there wasn't as much made of it because he was No. 2. I really feel that because of the circumstances and because he didn't get the notoriety that Robinson got, he certainly deserved it."
