Melvin "Bud" Griffith 1954-2015
Melvin “Bud” Griffith, Jr. , 61, died on Sunday, Oct, 4, 2015, at 12:18 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.
He was born on Sept. 12, 1954, in Floyd County, Kentucky to Melvin and Arlene (Slone) Griffith, Sr. who preceded him in death. On Sept. 8, 1971, he married Edna M. Wireman and she survives in Roundhead.
Melvin worked as a roofer for Frost & Company.
Also surviving is a daughter, Darlene Griffith of Roundhead; three grandchildren: Cody Griffith, Logan Smith and Dylan Griffith; a great grandson, Izaak Michael Smith; four brothers: Ronald (Liz) Griffith of Tennessee, Jackie (Jessie) Griffith of Tennessee., Elmer Slone of Indiana and Elzie Slone of Kentucky; three sisters: Barbara (David) Ferrell of Tennesse, Marrieta Thornsberry of Kenktucky and Linda Wireman of Alger.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Rev. Phil Brenneman officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger.
