Doug Brown was a former Ada business owner
E. Douglas Brown, 72, died at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015 at 4:22 a.m..
Doug was born on Nov. 14, 1942, in Bonanza, Kentucky, to Estel and Clara (Baldridge) Brown who preceded him in death. On Dec. 17, 1960, he married Joyce Baker and she survives in Ada.
Doug retired from Star Gas in Kenton, where he was a manager. He formerly owned several local businesses, including the former J&M Dairy Dip and Norada Lanes Bowling Alley of Ada.
He was a member of the Only Believe Ministries in Botkins.
He is also survived by his daughters: Vickie (Fred) Wolber of Ada and Stacy (Jesse) Brown-Austin of Lima; eight grandchildren: Joe (Amber) Wolber, Jef Wolber, Jay Wolber, Michael “Mick” Bowman, Zachary Slick, Tarah Fetter, Autumn Fetter and Jil Wolber; two great granddaughters: Lilah and Rylenn; three step great grandchildren: Ivy, Kylen and Kaine; two sisters: Darlene Casper and Jane (Don) Robinson both of Ada.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Robert, Russell and Delmer Brown; and a sister, Josephine Hackworth.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 19, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
