Nearly 150 attend ONU Veterans Day ceremony
Photos and story by Monty Siekerman
About 150 people attended the Veterans Day wreath-laying ceremony on campus on Wednesday.
Among those making comments were (from left) Dr. Dan DiBiasio, ONU president; Dr. John Phillip Lomax, professor of history; and Prof. David Retterer, mayor.
The program was held near the statue of Henry Solomon Lehr, university founder and Civil War veteran.
Members of the color guard of the Ream-McElroy VFW Post 9381 posted the colors.
James Lee, a senior from Frankfort, welcomed everyone. He has served as planning committee chair for the past three years. The program also included prayers by university chaplain Rev. David E MacDonald, singing by the University Singers and playing of taps. Tea lights were lit in memory of loved ones
