Richard Lasko memorial service on Dec. 30
Richard Lasko, 78, died on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton, Ohio.
He was born on July 18, 1937, in Niles, Ohio, to Anthony and Marianne (Belicki) Lasko who preceded him in death. On Aug. 26, 1967, he married Judith McClure and she died Jan. 21, 2014.
Richard worked as a part time Financial Aid Counselor at Ohio Northern University, Ada. He previously worked as a Professor of Guidance and Counseling and Director of Financial Aid at the University of Toledo. Richard received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from Ohio University, and his Doctor of Education from the University of Cincinnati. He was an avid fisherman and a numismatist. He enjoyed travelling and spoiling his grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter, Arlene (Scott) Allison; and three grandchildren, Rob, Grace, and Jillian.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Lasko and two infant brothers, Albin and Chester Lasko; five sisters, Genevieve Nizlak, Sophia Gossick, Martha Gossick, Albina Nestor, and Adele Hantula.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Deacon J. Michael Hood officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Ada.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton and/or the Ada Music Boosters.
