ReStore has a new floor and is once again open for business, meals, and events.

The community center closed in mid-December, after sponsoring many Christmas events, and reopened Tuesday with the nonskid, multicolored floor.

Here, Dana Walters, director, and Robert Kanzig, assistant director, admire the upgrade.

The original floor was installed many years ago when the Main Street location was known as Messick's Dime Store, later to be Peper Drugs for many years.

The recent improvement also included some interior painting as well as installation of a new sound system given by Tony and Trina Crowe of Kenton.

Once again, ReStore continues its free meals which include lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Crock Pot Tuesday is held from 4 to 6 p.m.

Many people volunteered to move clothing, furniture and much more onto a truck for storage for two weeks while the floor was being installed.

Helping were Jack Williams, Dave Humphreys, Rayola Risner, Linda Dearth, Holly Green, Felicia Smelser, Amy Huston, Gabe Hasan, Jim Neiswander, Barb Hayter, Dexter Woods, the ONU basketball and football teams, Max Line Trucking of Kenton, and Sure Seal Concrete Products.

Those wishing to donate clothing and other items may begin to do so once again by putting the items in the back door alcove. Also, there is need for more gifts to fully pay for the new floor. Donations for that would be welcome, as well.
