Coming to a town called Ada on Feb. 13
Brave?
Wanna take a dip in a pond in mid February?
Or, at least watch people shiver?
The 5th annual Polar Plunge will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, at polar bear pond which is in the middle of Fraternity Circle. (Our photo is from last year's Plunge.)
Sponsored by Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, the proceeds from the event go to the American Red Cross.
Ice is cut from the pond to make a "swimming" area. Students, faculty, and staff (mostly students) run down a slope into the frigid water, then head to a heated tent to dry off. Its a bone chilling experience for a good cause.
Plan to watch, and take a few dollars with you to give to the fraternity to support the Red Cross.
