1690s Salem, Mass., setting of Ada HS spring drama

"A Voice in the Dark: A Salem Story" is this spring's play put on by the Ada Drama Association at the high school auditorium. Curtain time is 7 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 15-17.
Told through the eyes of a teenager, the two-act play is a thrilling and poignant tale of one of the darkest eras in American history, the time of the witch trials in Salem, Mass., in the 1690s.
Peg Gordon, the director, called the 90-minute play "challenging" for the cast, which is composed of junior and senior high students. Amy Stover is assistant director.
The play was written by Elizabeth Downing.
Thespians are Ashley Briedenbach, Sydney Hartford, Olivia Guyton, Eli Garmon, Jil Wolber, Evan Smittle, Libbie Milks, Reece Evans, Audrey Hazleton, Hailey Maier, Josie Boehm, Melinda Temple, Shelby VanAtta, Rebecca McDonald, JD Schrader, Austin Amburgey, Jared Craig, Ethan Hall.
Others helping in the production Alissa Schlacter, stage manager; Allison Dotson, assistant stage manager; Josie Boehm, set designer; Samantha Crawford, lighting; Julian Owens, costumes; Meredith Marshall, house manager, Caitlyn Stover, prop manager.
Tickets are $6, and $4 for students and senior citizens
