Beta Alpha Psi ‘Best Practices’ team finishes second in regional competition
Ohio Northern University’s Beta Alpha Psi “Best Practices” team finished second in a competition held as part of the Beta Alpha Psi 2016 Midwest Regional Meeting in Covington, Ky., from April 1-2.
The team, which presented “Good to Great,” was made up of Jacob Crowley, a Master of Science in Accounting candidate from Wadsworth, Ohio; Katie Cochrane, a senior accounting major from Bowling Green, Ohio; Nick Hensley, a senior accounting major from Daytona Beach, Fla.; Courtney Horstman, a Master of Science in Accounting candidate from Delphos, Ohio; Thomas McArdle, a senior management major from Xenia, Ohio; and Megan Walker, a Master of Science in Accounting candidate from Troy, Ohio.
In addition, two other teams presented at various sessions during the conference. Greg Hooper, a senior accounting major from Ada, Ohio, and Kendra Mayfield, a senior accounting major from Springfield, Ohio, presented “Giving Back to the Community.” Joseph De Luca, a Master of Science in Accounting candidate from Ada, Ohio; Megan Dobkins, a senior accounting major from Ada, Ohio; and Chanel Stasiuk, a senior accounting major from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, presented “Establishing a Strong Alumni Base.”
The competition and presentation teams were joined at the conference by Dr. James Fenton, dean of the Dicke College of Business Administration; Matthew Phillips, Beta Alpha Psi adviser and assistant professor of accounting; and John Kramer, Beta Alpha Psi vice president of finance and Master of Science in Accounting candidate from Buford, Ga.
Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi is an honor organization for financial information students and professionals. There are more than 300 chapters on college and university campuses with more than 300,000 members initiated since Beta Alpha Psi’s formation. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field.
